Police announced public safety measures to manage the massive crowds that they expect to gather in Seoul's Yeouido for the 2025 Seoul International Fireworks Festival on Saturday.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency announced Thursday that organizers expect one million people to gather at Yeouido Hangang Park for this year's event and that it plans to dispatch three-thousand-448 officers to manage the crowd.

Deployment will be concentrated at locations likely to see large gatherings, such as the steps at the park and the interchange north of Mapo Bridge.

Yeouidong Road will be blocked off between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. Saturday, and flexible traffic control will be in place in five other areas.

Following the festival, Yeouinaru Station and several others may be subject to restricted access or be skipped on train routes.
