Cheonggyecheon Project Wins Special Award in Venice

Seoul City's project to revive a downtown stream has won a special prize at one of the world's most prestigious international architecture exhibitions.

Seoul's plan to restore the Cheonggyecheon stream received worldwide cognition at 9th International Architecture Biennale, which opened in Venice on Sunday.

Seventeen cities from around the world have submitted their city planning works and projects in the international architecture event, under the overriding theme of "Metamorphoses." The event will run until November 7th.
