The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) closed above the three-thousand-500 mark on Thursday, just two weeks after breaking a record high of three-thousand-400. 

The KOSPI finished the day at three-thousand-549-point-21, up 93-point-38 points, or two-point-70 percent, from Wednesday’s close. 

The main bourse opened strong at three-thousand-535-point-48 and extended gains throughout the session. 

Foreign investors drove the rally, purchasing a net three-point-14 trillion won worth of shares. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, ending at 854-point-25, up eight-point-91 points, or one-point-05 percent. 

The Korean won strengthened against the dollar amid expectations that sluggish economic indicators in the U.S. could accelerate the Federal Reserve's rate-cut cycle.
