North Korea has released images of a short-range ballistic missile (SRBM) equipped with a hypersonic warhead, marking a notable development in its weapons program.

The state-run Korean Central News Agency on Sunday published photos from the "Defense Development 2025" arms exhibition, featuring a missile labeled "Hwasong-11Ma."

The Hwasong-11 series, internationally known as the KN-23, is North Korea's variant of Russia's Iskander missile and has an estimated maximum range of approximately 800 kilometers.

The most striking feature of the newly revealed Hwasong-11Ma is its hypersonic glide vehicle-shaped warhead.

Analysts suggest the design could enable the missile to travel at speeds exceeding Mach 5 at low altitudes, potentially allowing it to bypass South Korea-United States air defense systems and target strategic sites.
