The Korea Railroad Corporation, or KORAIL, is increasing high-speed train service at Gyeongju Station between October 27 and November 2 to accommodate visitors for the APEC summit.

The transport ministry announced on Tuesday that the country’s KTX trains will make 46 more stops at Gyeongju than usual during that week, 360 instead of 314, with four to ten extra stops per day on the Gyeongbu KTX line.

The busiest day will be October 30, the eve of the summit, when KTX trains will make ten additional stops there.

From October 31 to November 2, the high-speed trains will stop at Gyeongju Station eight more times each day.

The ministry said passenger numbers at the station are expected to rise by over one-thousand per day during the summit period.

While SRT services will maintain their current schedule, KORAIL plans to deploy more staff at the station to ensure smooth operations.
