9th Pusan Film Festival to Kick off October 7th

The 9th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), the most prestigious movie festival in South Korea, will kick off on October 7th. During a 9-day run through October 15th, a total of 266 films from 63 countries will be shown to movie fans from home and abroad. Some of the nine main programs include "A Window on Asian Cinema", "Korean Panorama", "World Cinema" and "Wide Angle." The "New Currents" division is the only competitive section in the festival. The festival will kick into action with the opener, Wong KarWai's "2046". "Scarlet Letter", directed by South Korean filmmaker Byon Hyuck, will be screened as the finale.
