President Lee Jae Myung has instructed all government ministries, regardless of political affiliation, to cooperate with his administration’s first National Assembly audit.

In a written statement released by the presidential office on Sunday, Lee urged all departments to accept the National Assembly’s recommendations and take immediate action.

The president warned that officials who ignore reasonable recommendations, as well as those who did so following last year's audit, will be subject to strict disciplinary measures.

Lee also instructed the ministries to clarify misunderstandings, fabrications and false accusations that arise during the audit.

In addition, Lee called for a thorough investigation into whether former President Yoon Suk Yeol exerted undue influence on a police probe into a drug smuggling case involving customs officials.
