Free influenza and COVID-19 shots for adults 65 and older will be made available in stages starting Wednesday.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) announced on Tuesday that vaccinations for influenza and COVID-19 will be offered to older adults and others at high risk from COVID-19 through April 30 of next year.

Those 75 and older can receive the vaccines starting Wednesday, people in the 70 to 74 age group beginning next Monday and those aged 65 to 69 the following Wednesday.

The KDCA stated that both vaccines can safely be administered simultaneously.

Vaccinations are available at designated clinics and public health centers, regardless of the recipient’s registered address.

COVID-19 vaccinations for high-risk groups, as well as residents and workers at infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing homes, will also begin on Wednesday.
