South Korea's information and communications technology (ICT) exports reached a record high in September despite global trade uncertainty.

Statistics the Ministry of Science and ICT released on Tuesday showed that ICT shipments totaled 25-point-43 billion U.S. dollars last month, marking the highest figure of all time and a 14 percent jump from the previous year.

Semiconductor exports also hit a record high for the second consecutive month, rising 21-point-nine percent from a year earlier to 16-point-62 billion dollars.

Display exports grew one-point-three percent to one-point-92 billion dollars while shipments of mobile phones surged 55-point-eight percent to 420 million dollars.

ICT imports rose ten-point-four percent from a year earlier to 13-point-seven billion dollars in September, resulting in a trade surplus of eleven-point-65 billion dollars.
