A delegation of government officials will depart for Washington on Thursday to continue tariff negotiations with the Donald Trump administration.

The presidential office and the trade and industry ministry said in a news release on Wednesday that Kim Yong-beom, the top office's director of national policy, and Industry Minister Kim Jung-kwan will meet with U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stateside.

The two sides are negotiating the details of South Korea's pledged investment of 350 billion U.S. dollars in the U.S. economy.

The top office said in a news release on Monday that Seoul had submitted revisions to the financial package in September and that Washington had "responded" to its proposal.

The office declined to disclose further details because negotiations are still ongoing.
