The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke the three-thousand-700 mark for the first time during the session on Thursday.

The index initially opened at three-thousand-675-point-82, up zero-point-51 percent from Wednesday's closing, and continued to climb steadily.

It reached three-thousand-700-point-28 around 9:11 a.m., crossing the three-thousand-700 mark for the first time. 

As of 9:47 a.m., the KOSPI had risen one-point-eight percent from Wednesday’s closing to three-thousand-723-point-07. By 11:30 a.m., it had fallen to three-thousand-722-point-14.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ opened at 866-point-82, up zero-point-24 percent from the previous day.
