President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump are expected to meet for summit talks between October 29 and 30 on the margins of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) summit in Gyeongju.

National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac made the announcement during a press briefing at the presidential office in Seoul's Yongsan District on Thursday regarding Lee's scheduled meetings with the leaders of the U.S. and China during the APEC event.

Wi said that while it is still too early to announce a definitive schedule due to security concerns and possibility of further changes, the U.S. president is expected to visit the country between October 29 and 30 and will likely meet with Lee during that time.

According to sources close to the talks, Trump will likely visit South Korea on October 29th and 30th, and Seoul and Washington are currently discussing holding a summit on the day of his arrival.
