Lee Discusses Bilateral Ties, Economic Partnership with Thai Prime Minister

President Lee Jae Myung held his first phone conversation with Thailand's prime minister, centered on the future of the two nations' bilateral relations.

Presidential spokesperson Kim Nam-joon announced Thursday in a written briefing that the phone call between Lee and Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul earlier the same day.

Kim said the leaders had agreed to work toward the early conclusion of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, which is currently under negotiation.

The two leaders agreed that bilateral ties have expanded significantly across trade, investment and people-to-people exchange. 

They pledged to pursue mutually beneficial cooperation in defense, digital finance and infrastructure to strengthen the two nations' strategic partnership.
