The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California has honored Korean-American comedian Margaret Cho for her work in social activism and preserving civil liberties at the organization's annual Garden Party Sunday.

Cho was awarded by the ACLU of Southern California along with former U.S. Senator Tom Hayden and State Senator Gloria Romero

Cho started performing stand-up at the age of 16 in a comedy club above her parents' bookstore in San Francisco. She has performed on off-Broadway, held three sold-out national tours, and has since become a voice for progressive change in the United States.
