Producer prices rebounded in September, led by agricultural and livestock products and the expiration of temporary cuts to electricity and phone bills.

The Bank of Korea said on Wednesday that the producer price index, a key indicator of consumer inflation, for all commodities and services stood at 120-point-54 in September, up zero-point-four percent from the previous month.

The rise follows a zero-point-one percent decline in the previous month, which was caused by a significant drop in mobile phone charges.

The increase was mainly driven by a 14-point-four percent surge in residential electricity prices after the government ended its temporary cuts to electricity bills for July and August.

Prices of agricultural, forestry and fishery products also edged up zero-point-four percent from the previous month in September.
