Temperatures Plunge on Monday as Season's First Cold Wave Advisory is Issued

Temperatures plunged on Monday, prompting the first cold wave advisory of the season for central inland areas and northern North Gyeongsang Province.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, morning lows on Mount Seorak in Gangwon Province fell to minus five-point-four degrees Celsius and minus zero-point-six degrees in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, marking the season’s first subzero readings.

Seoul recorded a morning temperature of three-point-seven degrees, more than seven degrees lower than it did on Sunday.

Afternoon highs are expected to drop by as much as ten degrees compared with Sunday, reaching eleven degrees in Seoul and 13 degrees in Gwangju and Daegu.

Tuesday will be even colder, with Seoul’s morning low forecast at three degrees, before temperatures gradually begin to rise on Thursday.
