The Hangang Bus, Seoul’s new water-based transportation service, will resume operations on Saturday.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced the plan on Monday after having operated the river bus service without any passengers since September 29 in a bid to ensure safety and improve quality.

From Saturday, the city government will operate the Hangang Bus from 9 a.m., two hours earlier than it did back in early September.

The ferry will run 16 times a day between 9 a.m. and 9:37 p.m., connecting seven docks from Seoul's western Magok to eastern Jamsil and covering 28-point-nine kilometers.

To prevent cancellations, the city will permanently allocate a reserve river bus.

Starting next March, the city will run the ferry 32 times a day between 7 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. to better accommodate commuters.
