President Lee Jae Myung returned home Monday night after a two-day visit to Malaysia for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN) meetings aimed at strengthening regional cooperation.

The presidential aircraft carrying Lee and first lady Kim Hae Kyung arrived at Seoul Air Base in Seongnam from Kuala Lumpur.

During his trip, President Lee attended the South Korea–ASEAN Summit, where he outlined a blueprint to deepen Seoul’s comprehensive strategic partnership with the regional bloc.

He also took part in the ASEAN Plus Three summit, involving South Korea, China and Japan, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation between ASEAN and the three Northeast Asian nations.

On the sidelines, Lee held talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, agreeing to launch a joint task force to combat online scams targeting South Korean nationals.

Before departing for Seoul, he also met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for bilateral discussions.
