A consortium including the Korea Electric Power Corporation(KEPCO) has secured a renewable energy project in Saudi Arabia.

The state-run Saudi Press Agency reported Monday that the Saudi Power Procurement Company(SPPC) had awarded the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of one-thousand-500 megawatts in the town of Dawadmi, Riyadh Province, to a consortium including KEPCO and Saudi Arabia’s Nesma Renewable Energy Company.

The order is among five orders that SPPC placed on Monday, two of which were awarded to Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, one to EDF and one to Totalenergies.

Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resource said that Vice Minister Moon Shin-hak met Saudia Arabian Assistant Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Planning and Development Abdullah bin Ali Al-Ahmari and discussed ways to boost the two nations’ industrial cooperation.
