A government official says a second inspection of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on Seoul's nuclear activities will focus on gathering additional amounts of the nuclear materials produced in past unauthorized experiments.

Cho Chung-won, director-general of the Science and Technology Ministry, told Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency on Wednesday that the IAEA inspectors will gather nuclear materials in addition to those collected during their first visit to Seoul early this month.

The five-member inspection team will begin a week-long on-site investigation from Monday and is set to visit the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute and a nuclear reactor in Seoul that is used for research purposes.
