SK hynix posted record third-quarter earnings, driven by strong demand for its high-bandwidth memory for the training of artificial intelligence(AI). 

According to a regulatory filing released Wednesday, operating profit at the company rose 61-point-nine percent from 2024 to eleven-point-38 trillion won, or approximately eight billion U.S. dollars.

This marks the first time the chipmaker's quarterly operating profit has exceeded 10 trillion won.

Sales jumped 39-point-one percent on-year to nearly 24-point-45 trillion won while net income soared 119 percent to around 12-point-59 trillion won.

Both operating profit and sales exceeded previous quarterly records.

SK hynix attributed its strong performance to rising global prices for dynamic random access memory and NAND flash, as well as robust demand for high-end AI servers.
