Anti-U.S. and anti-Trump protestors broke through a police barrier and attempted to enter the venue of Wednesday's summit between President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump.

Authorities said that approximately 70 participants in an anti-U.S. and anti-Trump rally at Gyeongju's Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond breached the police line and stormed to a location approximately 100 meters outside the summit venue at the Gyeongju National Museum.

Protesters clashed with the police at one point as they demanded that South Korea withdraw its pledged investment in the U.S. economy, a component of the trade deal the two sides struck in July. No significant injuries have yet been reported.

The police set up a roadblock on the route to the museum to prepare for emergencies.
