Samsung Electro-Mechanics posted a better-than-expected third-quarter operating profit, tentatively tallied at 260-point-three billion won, or around 181-point-seven million U.S. dollars, jumping 15-point-seven percent from a year earlier.

The company said in a regulatory filing on Wednesday that sales in the third quarter rose ten percent from 2024 to a record high of two-point-nine trillion won, driven mainly by increasing demand for premium products in the artificial intelligence(AI) sector.

Sales of components expanded 15 percent on-year to one-point-four trillion won, while the packaging and optical divisions recorded sales of 593-point-two billion won and 914-point-six billion won, respectively.

Samsung Electro-Mechanics forecasts that demand for premium products will continue in the fourth quarter, despite inflationary factors and seasonal adjustments to parts inventory.
