U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in South Korea ahead of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) summit.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV said Trump and Xi's meeting in the reception lounge at the South Korean Air Force base at Gimhae International Airport lasted one hour and 40 minutes.

Following their talks, the two leaders were seen walking out of the venue and shaking hands.

Thursday's summit was their first meeting during Trump's second term in office, following their previous talks in Osaka, Japan, in June 2019 on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit.
