Rival political parties gave different assessments of the outcome of last week's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation(APEC) summit in Gyeongju.

The ruling Democratic Party(DP) characterized the Gyeongju gathering as an unprecedented achievement on Monday, saying the Lee Jae Myung administration's "pragmatic diplomacy" had borne fruit.

The DP pledged support for follow-up measures, referring to Nvidia's pledge to supply the nation at least 260-thousand Blackwell graphics processing units, Washington's approval of nuclear-powered submarine construction and restoration of ties with Beijing.

The main opposition People Power Party(PPP) criticized the government's "blank diplomacy," saying Seoul and Washington had issued no joint statement on their trade deal and that ambiguities remain regarding sector-specific tariffs on semiconductors and steel products.

The PPP ramped up pressure on the government to disclose the details of its negotiations with the U.S. administration.
