Korea will see mild autumn conditions on Friday, which marks "ipdong," the start of winter, according to its traditional calendar.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, skies will gradually cloud over tonight, with air quality remaining poor across Seoul, southern Gyeonggi Province, and South Chungcheong Province due to stagnant air.

Thick fog is expected in many inland areas early in the morning, reducing visibility to under 200 meters in some places.

Morning lows will range from four to 14 degrees Celsius—about one to three degrees higher than Thursday—while daytime highs will reach between eleven and 22 degrees, including twenty in Seoul and Daegu and twenty-one in Gwangju.

Light rain of up to five millimeters is forecast in parts of Gangwon Province’s Yeongdong region starting in the late afternoon.

Waves off Jeju’s southern coast will rise to between two and three meters.
