South Korea’s exports of food and agricultural industry goods reached an all-time high through October this year.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs on Friday, the combined exports of those products rose five-point-seven percent from the previous year to a record eleven-point-24 billion dollars through October.
Food exports increased five percent year-on-year to eight-point-59 billion dollars during the first ten months of the year.
Meanwhile, shipments of agri-industrial goods rose seven-point-eight percent year-on-year to two-point-64 billion dollars during the period.
Major items all saw steady growth, with exports of veterinary medicines rising 24-point-nine percent, pesticides 16 percent, fertilizers ten-point-five percent, and seeds nine-point-ten percent.
The ministry has vowed to provide financial, logistics, and customs support and step up global marketing efforts leveraging the Korean Wave, to achieve its export goal of 14 billion dollars for food and agricultural industrial products by the end of the year.
