Foreign Minister Cho Hyun will attend a meeting of top diplomats from the Group of Seven(G7) in Canada next week.

According to Seoul's foreign ministry on Friday, Cho will visit Canada between November 11 and 14 at the invitation of the host nation to take part in the multilateral discussion.

The minister is scheduled to speak at extended sessions on maritime security and prosperity, energy security, and critical minerals, all of which are closely linked to South Korea's national interests.

Cho also plans to hold a series of bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts during the G7 forum.

President Lee Jae Myung attended the G7 summit at Ottawa's invitation just days after taking office in June.
