Rain is forecast across much of the country this weekend, with light showers of up to five millimeters expected in the Seoul area and heavier rainfall of up to 60 millimeters likely in Jeju.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, eastern Gangwon Province and parts of the southeastern coast will see five to 30 millimeters through Saturday morning, with rain spreading later to Jeju, the Jeolla provinces and the southern coastal regions.
Precipitation will taper off by Sunday afternoon, but scattered showers may reach parts of the capital area and Gangwon’s inland regions.
Temperatures will remain mild for early November, with daytime highs around 14 to 21 degrees Celsius and mornings slightly warmer than average.
Cooler air will move in early next week, though forecasters say the chill will not be strong enough to bring a typical “Suneung cold snap” for the upcoming college entrance exam on Thursday.
Winds are expected to strengthen briefly over the East Sea, with waves reaching up to two-point-five meters and gusts reaching nearly 70 kilometers per hour in mountain areas.
