A delegation led by a senior executive of the Russian state-run media group Rossiya Segodnya arrived in Pyongyang as the two nations continue deepening cooperation in various fields.

The North’s Korean Central News Agency(KCNA) reported Tuesday that the delegation, led by Sergei Kochetkov, first deputy editor-in-chief of Rossiya Segodnya, arrived in Pyongyang on Monday.

Representatives of the KCNA and the Russian embassy in Pyongyang greeted the delegation.

The visit could include discussions on media exchange, including the possible dispatch of a correspondent to Pyongyang or the establishment of a bureau in the North Korean capital.

Stronger media ties between the two governments could reinforce their broader alliance by increasing mutual awareness and providing citizens with faster access to cross-border news.
