All aircraft takeoffs and landings across South Korea will be temporarily suspended during the annual College Scholastic Ability Test(CSAT), known in Korean as Suneung, later this week.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said Tuesday that it would restrict takeoffs and landings between 1:05 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. on Thursday during the English listening portion of the college entrance exam to minimize noise.

During the period, all aircraft, except for emergency or other urgent flights, will be prohibited from taking off, and those in the air must remain at least three kilometers above ground.

The restriction will affect about 140 flights, and airlines will notify passengers of any schedule changes in advance.

Drone and ultralight aircraft operations will also be prohibited.
