Top diplomats from the Group of Seven(G7) countries reaffirmed their commitment to the “complete” denuclearization of North Korea.

The foreign ministers of the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and Japan, as well as the high representatives of the European Union, issued a joint statement on Wednesday after a meeting in Ontario, Canada.

In the statement, the diplomats strongly condemned North Korea’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and pledged to push for the North’s complete denuclearization in line with relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The G7 representatives also expressed “grave” concerns regarding North Korea’s cryptocurrency theft and called on Pyongyang to resolve the abductions issue promptly.

In a previous joint statement issued in September following the UN General Assembly's high-level session, the diplomats reaffirmed their commitment to North Korea’s complete denuclearization.
