Foreign Minister Cho Cho Hyun met briefly with U.S. Secretary of State Marc Rubio at a Group of Seven (G7)-related meeting in Canada, amid delays in releasing the results of the two nations’ tariff and security negotiations.

Seoul's foreign ministry said Thursday that Cho had attended a session on maritime and energy security at the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Canada on Wednesday.

Cho and Rubio exchanged remarks during the session, possibly regarding the release of a joint fact sheet.

The two allies had agreed to release a fact sheet as soon as possible after President Lee Jae Myung and U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting in Gyeongju on October 29, but the rollout has already been delayed by more than two weeks.

It remains to be seen whether the two made any progress during their dialogue.

Cho did not hold a formal bilateral meeting with Rubio during the G7 gathering.
