All five members of the girl group NewJeans said they will return to their agency, ADOR, a year after attempting to terminate their exclusive contract with the firm and accusing the agency of breaching and invalidating its terms.
In a press release on Wednesday, ADOR said that members Haerin and Hyein have agreed to return, out of respect for the court's decision, after deliberating with family members and the company.
Hours after the announcement, the other three members—Minji, Hanni and Danielle—expressed their intent to return. ADOR later said it was verifying the wishes of the three members.
Last month, a Seoul court ruled that ADOR's exclusive contract with the girl group was valid and dismissed the members' argument that the agency's dismissal of its former chief, Min Hee-jin, had breached and invalidated the agreement's terms.
Prior to the ruling, the court also banned the members from engaging in independent music and advertising activities without their agency's consent.
