A selection of masterpieces that the late Samsung Group chairman Lee Kun-Hee and his family donated to South Korea will be displayed overseas for the first time.

The National Museum of Korea and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art announced on Friday that the exhibition, titled "Korean Treasures: Collected, Cherished, Shared," will open on Saturday at the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington.

A total of 330 pieces will be on display, including seven national treasures and 15 treasures, such as "Scene of Inwangsan Mountain After Rain" by Joseon-period landscape painter Jeong Seon.

The opening of the latest exhibition was delayed by a week after the Smithsonian Institution, which operates the National Museum of Asian Art, closed due to the government shutdown.

The exhibition will run through February 1 before traveling to Chicago and London.
