President Lee Jae Myung on Monday embarked on a ten-day, four-nation trip that will include a stop at the Group of 20(G20) summit in South Africa.
Lee will first visit the United Arab Emirates(UAE) from Monday to Wednesday, travel to Egypt for an official visit from Wednesday to Friday and then head to South Africa from Friday to Sunday.
After the G20, Lee will make a state visit to Turkiye the following Monday and Tuesday.
Lee will arrive in Abu Dhabi on Monday for a three-day state visit, during which he will hold a summit with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and sign a memorandum of understanding outlining cooperation across artificial intelligence, the defense industry, and other sectors.
In Egypt, Lee is scheduled to meet with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and deliver an address at Cairo University.
In South Africa, Lee will attend three G20 summit sessions over two days, with discussions covering inclusive and sustainable economic growth, development support, disaster risk mitigation and climate change, as well as innovation, jobs and artificial intelligence under the theme of a fair future.
The president will conclude his trip with a two-day state visit to Ankara to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to discuss bilateral cooperation, before returning home next Wednesday.
