South Korea and the United States will conduct a joint digital exercise this week to boost readiness for potential cybersecurity threats.

South Korea’s Cyber Operations Command and the U.S. Cyber Command have announced that their Cyber Alliance exercise will run Monday through Friday at the Friendship Annex, a U.S. National Security Agency facility in Maryland.

The exercise, the second since last year, aims to strengthen joint South Korea-U.S. responses to digital threats in line with agreements reached at the 54th Security Consultative Meeting in November 2022.

During the exercise, personnel from both countries will practice rapid information sharing and response procedures during simulated digital attacks.

The two nations also plan to expand digital cooperation through joint exercises, intelligence sharing, participation in multinational drills and the exchange of technical expertise and specialized personnel.
