President Lee Jae Myung is scheduled to meet with United Arab Emirates(UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday for summit talks aimed at deepening bilateral ties.

The meeting comes on the second day of Lee’s three-day state visit to Abu Dhabi, during which the president will attend a welcome ceremony, the bilateral summit, a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding and a luncheon.

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding cooperation under what both sides describe as a “special strategic partnership.”

Presidential chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik traveled to the UAE ahead of the visit to deliver a letter from Lee and help coordinate preparations for the summit.

Following the summit, a cultural exchange event will take place at the UAE presidential palace, with Lee and senior Emirati officials in attendance.
