President Lee Jae Myung held a 57-minute summit with United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi during a state visit on Tuesday.

Lee received top-level honors, including a 21-gun salute, mounted guards and a traditional Al Ayyala performance at the presidential palace.

Aircraft flew overhead, releasing red and blue trails symbolizing the Korean flag as the leaders exchanged greetings.

Expanded one-on-one talks focused on bilateral cooperation and inking memorandums of understanding(MOU) in sectors such as defense and artificial intelligence.

Both sides held an MOU-exchange ceremony following the summit, with a state luncheon scheduled at the palace.

The UAE also dispatched fighter jets to escort Lee’s plane as it entered Emirati airspace.
