South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and United Arab Emirates(UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a summit Tuesday and adopted a joint declaration titled “A New Leap toward a Shared Journey for the Next Century.”

In the declaration, the two leaders highlighted progress in bilateral ties, citing cooperation on the Barakah nuclear power plant and the Akh military unit, along with notable achievements in the space industry.

They pledged to deepen their Special Strategic Partnership, aiming to elevate it to a permanent and irreversible level based on trust, mutual respect and solidarity.

Citing the Barakah nuclear plant, built by South Korea, as a key example of successful collaboration, both sides agreed to expand the “Barakah model” to jointly enter global markets.

On artificial intelligence and semiconductors, the two nations committed to pursuing joint projects, including the establishment and operation of hyperscale AI data centers and global AI smart port initiatives.

In the defense industry, they agreed to strengthen cooperation beyond weapons sales to include joint development, technology sharing and local production.

The declaration also outlined plans to enhance cooperation in healthcare, education, culture and personnel exchanges.
