An additional two victims of last week's truck crash at a traditional market in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, have died from their injuries, bringing the total to four.

According to the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police, a victim in his 20s and another in her 80s, both of whom were pedestrians, died on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.

Two victims were pronounced dead at a hospital last Thursday, and the remaining 17 injured individuals are in stable condition.

The police plan to transfer the truck driver, a man in his 60s identified by his surname Kim, to the prosecution this week on charges of causing death or injury under the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Settlement of Traffic Accidents.

At his detention hearing, the suspect claimed that he had been taking medication for a neurological disorder but had recently had to discontinue treatment because of work responsibilities.
