Former President Yoon Suk Yeol testified that former Prime Minister Han Duck-soo asked him to reconsider declaring martial law on December 3.

Yoon made the statement on the witness stand during Han's insurrection trial at the Seoul Central District Court on Wednesday.

The former president could not recall whether Han had used the word "opposed" at the time, but said his view of the plan was negative.

The former president said that he had persuaded Han to come to his side. 

Yoon, who did not attend Han's trial last week, appeared in court on Wednesday after the court threatened to compel the former president to testify.
