The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will begin relocating its offices to the southeastern port city of Busan next month.

The ministry said on Wednesday that it would begin the process on December 8 and complete it by the third week of the same month.

An opening ceremony will take place at a temporary location in Busan at the year's end, and the ministry plans to construct a permanent building by 2030.

Interior Minister Yun Ho-jung visited the temporary offices, which are currently undergoing renovations, on Wednesday to check the status of preparations.

Approximately 800 of the ministry's regular and contract employees will relocate to Busan.
