President Lee Jae Myung arrived in Turkiye, the final leg of his Africa and Middle East tour.

Lee is scheduled to hold a summit with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday afternoon to discuss cooperation across defense, nuclear power and the bio sector.

Before the summit, the South Korean leader plans to pay respect at the mausoleum of the founding father and first president of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

On the second day of his state visit on Tuesday, Lee will lay a wreath at the cemetery of Korean War veterans and meet with Korean residents.

After wrapping up his ten-day tour, which included visits to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and participation in the Group of 20 summit in South Africa, Lee is scheduled to return home on Wednesday.
