The transport of South Korea’s homegrown space rocket Nuri to its launchpad began on Tuesday ahead of the scheduled launch on Thursday.

According to the Korea Aerospace Administration and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, the move started at 9 a.m., delayed from the initially planned 7:40 a.m. due to impending rain.

The rocket was carried from the assembly building at the Naro Space Center in the southwestern county of Goheung to the launch pad on a special transporter.

After a journey of approximately 70 minutes, Nuri will be prepared for mounting on the launchpad.

In the afternoon, the team will continue launch preparations, including connecting umbilical cables to supply power and propellants, and conducting airtightness checks.
