Former People Power Party floor leader Choo Kyung-ho again denied blocking a vote to terminate martial law on December 3.

In a statement on Thursday, ahead of the National Assembly's vote on his arrest, Choo said the warrant request made clear that the charges against him were groundless and amounted to malicious political maneuvering.

Choo claimed that prosecutors had failed to substantiate their charges and had fabricated their evidence against him.

Choo stressed that, on the day martial law was briefly declared, he had not advised or encouraged any PPP lawmaker to avoid the termination vote.

He added that he will keep his promise to waive his immunity from arrest and stand tall before the law and the truth.
