Prosecutors indicted two Chinese teenagers on charges of benefiting the enemy by taking unauthorized photos near four military bases and three international airports.

The Suwon District Prosecutors' Office said that the two teens had taken thousands of photos of fighter jets and control facilities with telephoto lens-equipped DSLR cameras and mobile phones during visits to South Korea between the second half of last year and March of this year.

The indictment said the teens took the photos near four South Korean and U.S. military bases and the nation's three major airports in Incheon, Jeju and the Gyeonggi provincial city of Gimpo.

A resident near the South Korean air base in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, reported the two defendants to the police on March 21.

The teens reportedly testified that they merely enjoyed taking photos of airplanes.
