Consumer prices rose by around two percent for the second consecutive month.

According to the Ministry of Data and Statistics on Tuesday, the country’s consumer price index stood at 117-point-two in November, up two-point-four percent from a year earlier.

The increase matched the two-point-four percent rise recorded in October.

The prices of agricultural, livestock and fishery products jumped five-point-six percent in November, adding zero-point-42 percentage points to overall inflation.

Petroleum rose five-point-nine percent last month due to the reduced fuel tax cuts and a strong dollar.

The living cost index, which focuses on frequently purchased items and closely reflects perceived inflation, rose two-point-nine percent in November, the highest increase since July of last year.
