KMA: Western Region to Report Considerable Amount of Snow amid Cold Snap

The country's western region is forecast to receive a considerable amount of snow from Wednesday as the cold spell is likely to become more severe Thursday morning.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA), up to ten centimeters are expected along the western coast in the Jeolla region and the southern Jeju Island and up to eight centimeters along the coast in South Chungcheong until Thursday morning.

Around one centimeter of snow is projected to hit Seoul by Thursday afternoon, the year's first snow for the capital city, while the eastern part of Gyeonggi and Gangwon Province are likely to see up to five centimeters.

The morning low in Seoul Thursday is forecast to dip to minus nine degrees Celsius, and minus 14 degrees in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.

Daytime highs are expected to range between one to nine degrees, up to six degrees higher compared to Wednesday.
