Nearly 2,000 Snow-Related Reports Filed in Southern Gyeonggi

Nearly two-thousand reports were filed in southern Gyeonggi Province as heavy snowfall continued from Thursday evening into Friday morning.

The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police said Friday that authorities had received one-thousand-902 snow‑related complaints between 5 p.m. Thursday and 5 a.m. Friday.

More than one-thousand of the reports involved traffic disruptions, 732 were requests for snow removal and 83 pertained to traffic accidents.

Around 4 a.m. Friday, a truck accident partially blocked lanes near Pangyo Junction on the Seoul‑bound side of the Gyeongbu Expressway in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province.

Earlier, at 10:43 p.m. Thursday, six vehicles were involved in a chain‑reaction crash on an icy slope near the exit of the Isu-Gwacheon Tunnel on the Gwacheon-Bongdam Expressway.

By Friday morning, all roadways in southern Gyeonggi had reopened.
